The reason I went for a searchQuestion on RMWeb was as much about getting an idea of what people thought of available packages as well as what is out there. Both feature LEGO tracks (regular and Duplo): Share Improve this answer Follow answered at 18:11 Jay 161 1 3.
RAILMODELLER EXPRESS PRO
I have tried XtrkCAD and didn't get on with it at all. You can use RailModeller Express or RailModeller Pro on macOS. I have looked at Wine/Winebottler but it looked like too much of a learning curve to get going whereas I was already comfortable with virtualisation. I use AnyRail (paid for) on Win10 running under VirtualBox. (I hardly bother with RMWeb's own search tool, Google works as well/better for me.) If running a VM you need a licensed copy of Windows (though you can cheat and use VMWare's free P2V tool to make a VM image from a Windows PC and import that VM to run under your chosen virtualisation tool).Īnd yes, all of those options are revealed using a very straightforward Google search. You might want to make sure the track height profile in the lower third of the document window is active by using the " Layout" control in the toolbar to get live previews when adjusting parameters in the grade and height dialogs.Railmodeller/Railmodeller Pro available through the Mac app store IIRC.ĪnyRail - a Windows app, free up to 50 track pieces IIRC - or other Windows-based app, either running under Wine/Winebottler or within a Windows VM via Virtualbox (free), VMWare Fusion (very much not free) or Parallels (ditto). You can also reset the heights and grades for all selected elements using "Elements > Adjust Height > Reset.". in the Dialog edit the heights at the start and end track.Select a range of connected track elements, then.To adjust start and end height for a range of track in the Dialog enter a target height and adjust settings accordingly.
RAILMODELLER EXPRESS SOFTWARE
I tried looking through the existing threads on this forum, but most of the software seem to be Windows only. I'm considering upgrading to RailModeller Pro, but I thought I would ask for advice before spending the money. Unfortunately, it's limited to 50 pieces of track. click on the height/grade field in the sidebar to the right or I'm currently using RailModeller Express, and I do like it.

There are several ways to adjust track heights or create grades: Please note that adjusting height is currently supported for track elements only. It is still available for download here, however it's no longer compatible with modern macOS versions. The app was available directly from our online shop at KAGI (now retired).
RAILMODELLER EXPRESS MAC OS
Our legacy app developed and sold until 2014 was originally designed for Classic Mac OS (OS 9). RailModeller (also known as RailModeller Classic).A comparison of the Pro and Express edition can be found here. RailModeller Express is a free application for creating small model railroad layouts. The free edition offering features similar to our Pro edition for small layouts was introduced in late 2015 and is also available exclusively from the Mac App Store. The app is under constant development with new features being added all the time.

It was reimagined and built from the ground up to take advantages of the modern features offered by macOS and to be easily extensible in the future. Our current app was introduced in 2015 and is available exclusively on the Mac App Store. We currently offer three different apps for planning model trains on the desktop for macOS:
